TANART Enterprises was founded by Deodatus Kafwa in 2006 as handicraft export company and it has exported large amount of handicraft abroad. In 2014 the company started to focus on licensing and branding.
About Deodatus Kafwa, Executive Director show/hide text
Being one of co-founders of Cooperation for Fair Trade in Africa (Cofta), Deodatus Kafwa is dedicated to fair trade and empowering small scale producers in Tanzania. He has traveled extensively throughout the world to popularize the Tanzania art. He was Marketing Manager of the well known Cultural House (Nyumba ya Sanaa) and got vast experience with exporting the art and handicraft abroad. He worked together with the Marknoll Sister Jean Pruitt and stood at the birth of the phenomenal art of George Lilanga. After the assignment at Cultural House, he worked for Mikono Industries, again as Marketing Manager.
About Daniel Augusta, Marketing Manager show/hide text
The Czech born Daniel Augusta studied environmental sciences at Gothenburg’s University in Sweden before he started to export Tinga Tinga paintings from Tanzania to Europe. In 2009 he became licensing agent of Tinga Tinga Arts Cooperative Society and made several successful licensing deals with large publishing companies. Between 2011 and 2014 he was employed by Tinga Tinga Cooperative Society as marketing manager. In April 2014 he started to work as marketing manager at TANART Enterprises
